Welcome, all! Our blog is up and running and we have all settled, found our feet and sorted our thoughts. From now on you can look forward to daily updates about our unique journey here at the SABA International Butler Academy.

Today, after learning how to make beds and do turndown, we turned up the brain juices and sat for our terminology exam! Can you name five pierced dishes? Sosatie, Kebab, Espetada, Spiedini and Brochette. Hope I did well!

Thank you for reading my blog entry. Have an excellent day and do visit again.

What an amazing journey so far. We only started blogging now to give you, our readers(friends and family), a different insight into the wonderful world of the modern butler.
We had a magnificent time today at Fairview where we tasted various cheeses with the highlight being the delightful cream cheese made from goat’s milk. We also learned more about the art of Wine and Cheese pairing.
The day still wasn’t over because afterwards we went to the spice route and tasted decadent chocolates at the inspiring De Villiers chocolate makers.
An amazing time so far and so many more breathtaking days still to come.
    Have an excellent night…

Death by chocolate! I never knew that that saying had a literal origin. We learned today that as part of the harvesting process, the cacao pods are placed under banana leaves where they “die” and ferment before being dried and processed further to become chocolate.

And remember, seeing that cacao grows on a tree, why not think of chocolate as fruit? And fruit is healthy, right? So have another piece…

On that note, may you have sweet dreams and see you tomorrow for the next blog entry.
